नई दिल्ली। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने आज उत्तर प्रदेश के बलरामपुर में सरयू नहर नेशनल प्रोजेक्ट का विधिवत लोकार्पण किया। इस दौरान पीएम मोदी ने देश के पहले सीडीएस बिपिन रावत को श्रृद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हुए कहा कि जनरल रावत जहां रहेंगे, वहां से देश को आगे बढ़ते देखेंगे। कहा कि 8 दिसंबर को हेलिकॉप्टर दुर्घटना में मारे गए सभी वीर योद्धाओं के प्रति अपनी संवेदना व्यक्त करता हूं। भारत के पहले सीडीएस जनरल बिपिन रावत का निधन प्रत्येक देशभक्त के लिए एक क्षति है। वह बहादुर थे और उन्होंने देश के सशस्त्र बलों को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत की, देश इसका गवाह है। मोदी ने हेलिकॉप्टर दुर्घटना में एकमात्र जिंदा बचे ग्रुप कैप्टन वरुण सिंह की सलामती के लिए प्रार्थना की। उन्होंने कहा- उत्तर प्रदेश के सपूत देवरिया के रहने वाले ग्रुप कैप्टन वरुण सिंह जी का जीवन बचाने के लिए डॉक्टर जी-जान से लगे हुए हैं। मैं मां पाटेश्वरी से उनके जीवन की रक्षा की प्रार्थना करता हूं। देश आज वरुण सिंह जी के परिवार के साथ है, जिन वीरों को हमने खोया है, उनके परिवारों के साथ है। मोदी ने कहा कि आज से करीब 50 वर्ष पहले सरयू नहर राष्ट्रीय परियोजना पर कार्य शुरू हुआ था। जब इस परियोजना पर कार्य शुरू हुआ था, तब इसकी लागत 100 करोड़ रुपये से भी कम थी। आज यह लगभग 10,000 करोड़ रुपये खर्च करने के बाद परियोजना पूरी हुई है। सरयू नहर परियोजना में जितना काम 5 दशक में हो पाया था, उससे ज्यादा काम हमने 5 साल से पहले करके दिखाया है। यही डबल इंजन की सरकार है। यही डबल इंजन की सरकार के काम की रफ्तार है।
